The Role
I got great experience within the business in a large amount of departments not just HR.
All very supportive and happy to help. All colleagues treated you like a permanent member of staff.
My manager was always around to ask questions however, there is an expectation of thinking on your own feet and finding out the answers for yourself.
Most days I had a full days work, however, if not there was definitely work I could get on with if I asked around.
I was given projects to help out on and stages to own. There was never too much responsibility to handle but enough that I never felt my skills were being used and tested.
I definitely gained vital work experience which I can use within my next employment.
The Company
During my placement my department was very busy therefore, the office could be quite quiet at times. However, we all got involved as groups in lunch time events around the office as well as just chatting in the canteen.
I got the impression it was organised. They had enough work throughout.
I got the opportunity to go into meetings which I was interested to know more about and expand my knowledge. Being invited to the graduate careers fair allowed me to gain an insight into possible future careers and hear other graduates stories.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
The extended my internship and this will allow me to further explore different aspects of the business and more opportunity to look for further jobs.
The Culture
Yes, I got to meet other interns and socialise at lunch as well as on the graduate career day.
There were lots of opportunities to go on trips or get tickets to various sporting events.
