The Role
My placement at BuroHappold was a great opportunity to discover the world of conception in a structural team. I had responsabilities, an united and friendly team to help me and answer to my questions. I really felt integrated in the project even if I was only a student placement. I had to worked hard to provide a good work but I enjoyed this internship and it taught me a lot.
My colleagues were always there to help me, to tell me when I had done good work and how I could improve my work. They also regularly checked that I didn't have significant problems with the given tasks. I felt integretad in my team and that my work mattered.
My colleagues were always there to answer to my questions, to help me and to give me advice in my work. My supervisors always told me the work that I had to do and how to do it. They regularly checked that I had no problems.
My team was really busy therefore I worked hard to provide sufficient work and to help them as much as possible. However I didn't feel extremely busy. I worked from 9.00am to 5.30 or 6.00pm with a free lunch break of 1 hour. I could take breaks whenever I needed depending on how busy I was.
I am glad to have had great responsibilities, I really felt like I took part in the job to be done. This motivated me to give my best.
During this internship I learnt how to use new softwares, how to work and communicate in a team and to take initiatives in my work. Theses skills will be really helpful for my profesionnal future as I will work in this kind of atmosphere.
The Company
The project was complex and my team was busy but there always was a good atmosphere where everyone helped the others and took time to explain. My team was hard-working and united.
My placement was well organised, I knew who I could speak to if I had any problems or need any help. And I had work and tasks to be done in the first week of my arrival.

The Culture
It was really easy to socialise with my team, everyone was friendly and took care about the others. Every Friday, I could join my team in a bar to enjoy the begining of the weekend.
There was a lot of activities outside of work. For exmple I could attend to yoga and massages sessions, there were trainings for several sports and even a sportive event for my team organised by one of my supervisor.
