The Role
I really did like the tasks I was doing, but also the variety of the tasks I was given. The only downside with the placement was the fact, though this was my second internship with the same company, I was less payed than the first time regarding the fact that I was more competent this time compare to the first time.
I did feel really valued by my colleges. I was given the same tasks as the graduate employees. They made me feel very comfortable in the company, but also outside the company in a social point of view.
The balance between helping me out and letting me exploring the task on my own was extremely good. Most of the time I was actually let to explore the task alone, which was really good, and whenever I needed help there was always someone to support me.
I was usually very busy since I was involved in a few projects which I enjoyed quite a lot.
I was given a lot of responsibility during my internship and was given the opportunity to take ownership of the projects/tasks I was working on.
The internship has definitely helped me to expand my understanding for the way structural systems behave, which I will have great use of during the rest of my studies and in my future carrier in general.
The Company
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
The opportunities has been discussed. These where at first discussed during my internship. But the organisation also has been very good at following up and have been keeping in touch regarding future possibilities and options.
The Culture
Living in London and doing social stuff in the city were usually very expensive. Things such as transportation, rent and traveling to UK for the internship are things that the company should have supported the interns with since the salary was very low.
