The Role
All of the staff in the office were extremely welcoming and I felt included in the office atmosphere throughout the duration of the placement.
I was assigned a buddy who looked after me for the duration of my placement, they were very approachable and gave me help with anything I asked them about. They also made sure that I was getting a variety of work so that I could get a real insight into the work. In addition to this, I had a manger who also supervised my work and had meetings to talk about my progress.
I had quite a steady level of work throughout my placement, my buddy made sure that I always had work that I could do and other colleagues would often pass work if I had a light schedule.
I felt like I was given quite a lot of responsibility, I was given the same work that a new graduate employee would be doing.
Working regularly with and receiving training in Excel has greatly improved my use of the program.
The Company
Everyone was really friendly and there was a very welcoming atmosphere in the office. There was a dress down Friday for charity along with a cooked breakfast brought in for all the staff in the department. There was also a department social as well as welcoming drinks and celebratory drinks when exams results were announced.
The placement was well structured with training over the first two days and then I had more internal training throughout the first two weeks, as well as work ready for me to do.
There well structured with training over the first two days and then more internal training led by a member of the the department throughout the first two weeks.

Company Parties/Events
I really enjoyed my time at KPMG and talking to people working their currently it seems they share the same opinion.
The Culture
There was an organised bowling and meal social for all interns in the north offices, however there were no other social events apart from this.
The cost of living and socialising was relatively cheap for me personally as I stayed in my student house, however I know a lot of the other interns stayed in university accommodation.
The office is based in the centre of Manchester with a large mix of clubs and pubs near by.
