The Role
I greatly enjoyed my time with Lloyds. There was a really friendly atmosphere throughout and the work done was challenging and enjoyable because of that.
I worked with really friendly people throughout, and always felt valued.
If I ever had any queries then the managers were happy to take time out of their schedule to help me with whatever it was
Generally I always had a task, but some days were simply work shadowing. However this is just a symptom of an internship generally.
I was given as much freedom as regulations allowed, for instance within a week I was speaking with clients regularly on the phone.
I learned many great skills, particularly communication and teamwork. These are invaluable going forward. It was a great insight into working in the bank.
The Company
Brilliant atmosphere in my office the whole time, very social and friendly but also focused on completing tasks.
This was a bit of a stumbling block for the internship, for instance I was initially rejected by Lloyds and then invited to interview, which was confusing. Though saying that, during my time at the bank I'd say my schedule was well organised.
Invested a lot of time and effort into helping me initially, and making sure I felt welcomed and part of the team. There were also webinars throughout the internship, but honestly I did not find them useful and thought they were a distraction from getting work done with my team.
Very appealing indeed, and I will be seriously considering the subsequent graduate offer that I have received.
The Culture
Yes colleagues were always keen to involve me in any social events which I appreciated and improved my overall experience.
It's London so it's expensive. Be prepared for a £10 note not to cover 2 pints.
Great pubs for after work drinks in the city but couldn't really comment on nightlife.
Yes there was a charity challenge throughout and as previously mentioned, colleagues were always happy to involve me in anything.
