The Role
Very much so, was great that I was on different client sites during my 6 week audit vacation scheme.
Very much so, the manager or anyone on each team I worked with gave me as much work as they could and were very helpful in explaining how to complete it.
As previously stated they were very helpful and I never felt uncomfortable asking follow up questions and they always had time for me!
As I was on first year audits there was less for me to do rather than if I had been put on clients that they had previously audited, however I still had work given to me on a regular basis but I was never swamped with too much to do.
I was given a great degree of responsibility, they gave me work that a trainee would be doing after 2 years (with much help and guidance I may add). I appreciated this as I was not just given easy and repetitive work.
As I am not doing an accounting degree I greatly developed my skills on Excel, which is not a programme I was at all familiar with before doing the vacation scheme.
The Company
Absolutely lovely, I was in the Plymouth office and all the staff were so friendly and warm. I attended various office socials and was really made to feel part of the team.
As KPMG is a massive company the vacation scheme was smoothly run, and I only had a few days in the office when I was not booked to a client.
They spent a lot of time teaching me the basics and I felt like a valued member of the team.
Subsidised Canteen
I had my final interview with the partner in Plymouth and was offered the graduate job, I am very pleased!
The Culture
As previously stated they organised many social events and I even joined the office on their annual away day,
