The Role
I enjoyed my placement year thoroughly. I had a lot of fun working in my various teams as a Junior Business Analyst, Junior Project Manager and within the Digital Innovation Team.
I felt very valued by my colleagues through the feedback I received on work, and within my quarterly appraisals. Additionally I had 1-2-1 meetings where we were able to go through my objectives and ensure I was completing them.
I was given a good level of support from managers throughout my placement. If I was ever stuck on work, I had a strong network of people to ask for help. Additionally I had a graduate buddy to talk to on a monthly basis.
Work load varied day to day. When I first started it was rather slow as I was a new employee and getting used to the surroundings however it picked up.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was very relaxed and friendly. There were "dress down fridays" every week.
Placement was well organised with my first role being sorted well in advance. I met up with my manager before my start date so felt as ease when I joined the company. Throughout the placement year I had support to sort out my other roles and ensure objectives were assigned.

Working from home
Very appealing Graduate Programme with National Grid, conditional offer to return back onto this scheme which is nice to have.
The Culture
The placement students were spread geographically across the UK so it was hard at times to organise social events, however we were able to see each other every few months.
Leamington living costs were relatively cheap as I lived in a shared house.
Leamington has a good level of bars and clubs in the town centre, there are also surrounding cities like Birmingham and Coventry which have more to offer.
