About You
The Insight week was a great opportunity to broaden my horizon and learn more about the finance industry. Furthermore, I got a great taste for the company UBS itself and how it feels like to work for them. My fellow peers and the colleagues were all friendly which made this insight even more enjoyable.
I felt very valued during my entire week due to kindness of the staff and the amount of effort UBS put in to provide us with this great experience. Everything was organised, the staff was always willing to help us or just have a chat to share their story and answer some questions.
There was a lot of support during the insight week. There was always staff who were there to answer our questions. However, I felt that not much guidance was needed because everything was very clear. Furthermore, we had the opportunity to talk to the employees who work for UBS which was really helpful in terms of gaining an even better feel of the company from a different perspective.
In my case the Insight week at UBS was too short to develop new skills. However, my skills like communication skills or teamwork skills were tested and if not improved due to the constant interaction with new people. Furthermore, I could recognize and apply some of the finance principles which I learnt in class.
The Company
I, personally, attended quite a few insights and the insight week at UBS was no different. Everything was well structured and followed a clear plan from the beginning till the very end. It was a mix of networking, presentations and activities. The schedule was very busy and tight. In my opinion there could be more breaks.
In my opinion, the atmosphere was very pleasant. The staff was very friendly and I met many like-minded, talented and motivated individuals who were my peers during this insight week. It was a professional atmosphere throughout and I was always treated as if I was no different from the employees who already work for UBS.
The insight at UBS helped me a lot to get a feel how it would be like to work for this company and gained a better understanding of working in the finance industry. Many career paths were introduced in presentations and we had many opportunities to network with the staff.
Although the insight at UBS lasted only for a few days, it was sufficient enough to gain a good sense of the company culture. There is an excellent work environment which is very professional but everyone is willing to help you out. Everyone was very motivated from what I saw and heard during the networking event with the managers.
The internship was very valuable because it strengthened my plan to work for UBS and in the finance industry. I was happy about all the paths that I can take within UBS and how exciting a career in the finance industry really is. Aside from all the presentations, the networking with the staff was extremely helpful because it gave you another more personal perspective.
