The Role
It was an amazing opportunity that gave me an insight into the workalike that I'm thinking of entering after graduation. I enjoyed the internship because I was satisfied with the role, responsibility and attention that I was given during the 2 month period.
I felt very valued. After the first 2 introductory weeks I felt like part of the team. My opinion was valued at every meeting that I attended after having done my background research on the company and the systems that we were working with. It was a great feeling, also because I felt like I could ask anything to anyone (in terms of knowledge and help with my project).
I had to do a lot of background reading of a range of files for the company, but if I still didn't understand something after having done that, then I would be able to ask my supervisor or other colleagues the questions that I had. Queries were always answered promptly, and were clear.
In the first month of the internship, the work load was balanced, but after that the workload increased exponentially. I had to work extra hours and would have to work from home to manage finishing my project in time.
I wasn't responsible for anyone or anything in particular. However my project entailed in saving money for the company that I worked for, and that is important to them.
I gained more experience in the engineering background and felt accomplished in being apply what I had been studying over the past years (during college and university) on real life problems and systems.
The Company
I was in an office with 3 other people. Big office and each person had a desk. Just before the lunch break and before going going home we would talk. Other than that the office was always quite and employees were doing their jobs and minding their own business.
I was the first intern that they had with an energy background. They were not sure how it was going to work out, but they were happy with my skills in auditing and energy management. Hence why they facilitated my work there and allowed me mohave access to several levels of confidential information; from the company and other employees.
The company gave me access to any files that I needed for my project. They also offered to explain in detail anything that I wasn't sure of. I did not attend seminars, because they were not available.

Very appealing. I am seriously considering applying for their graduate scheme and to work for them full time after I graduate. I received excellent feedback from my supervisor and am still in contact with a couple of employees there.
The Culture
I was the only intern during my internship period.
It was very cheap. I lived in a town called Ouarzazate, found in Morocco. Also the conversion rate helped even more.
There wasn't one. Restaurants and bars would be open, but nothing else to do.
Football twice a week was organised by the company, however apart from that there wasn't anything official. During the weekends I went on mini-holidays with some colleagues in nearby cities.
