The Role
My placement has been invaluable. I have learnt more than I could ever learn at university, I have been made part of a lovely team and have gained so much knowledge of how the industry works.
I was not made to feel like a placement student and have very much been made to feel part of the team.
I have a supervisor and a line manager that look after me and answer any queries I have. I have a weekly meeting with my supervisor to see how I'm getting on.
I was as busy as I wanted to be but obviously the more effort I pu tin the more I got out.
I felt like my work was worth while.
I have learnt a lot and have seen how to transfer my studies to a work situation.
The Company
Not serious, fun at the right times. A good balance between hard work and fun was had. Never felt like I shouldn't speak etc.
I have come across zero problems so far.
I have been given the chance to complete my offshore training which was a great training and development opportunity and I'll hopefully be going offshore.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Unknown at the moment but I will have a chance to get a position near the end of my placement if I am successful.
The Culture
There was always things going on.
Cost of livign is quite expensive but there is a lot of socialising to be done.
Pretty good - I lived here for 17 years before university so I was used to it!
You can get involved as as much as you want - a personal thing.
