The Role
The people really made this placement, colleagues were welcoming, friendly and always willing to help you out.
My team were great, they appreciated everything that I did and got involved in during my time at Sony.
My manager and colleagues were so supportive, there was never a question I couldn't ask and my opinion was always valued even though my manager was in another country.
Work load varied, depending on the general business activities at that time. However, there is always something to get involved in if you put yourself forward.
Due to the great relationship I had with my manager, I was given more responsibility as the year went on and ran several of my own projects across a European scale.
Whether you enjoy your placement or not (I definitely did), you will learn a lot. One of the most important skills that I developed were my interpersonal skills, as I communicated with people from different cultures, across different countries every single day.
The Company
Everyone in the office is really friendly and supportive. However, due to the nature of the organisation, it is a typical business environment.
My manager put a lot of time aside to show me vital Marketing Communications practices and skills.

I have kept in touch with many great colleagues and it would be great to work with them again at some point in the future.
The Culture
I made some great friends on placement. We made an effort between ourselves and other colleagues to get together a few times a week, which is great if you've moved far for the job.
Living in the area was expensive compared to what I was used to, especially as it is not too far from London.
There are a few bars and one club.
Sometimes colleagues across the office will head to the pub after work, and I believe there was a social club.
