    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed the insight as it gave me a solid idea of what the company does and what the role of an auditor is. I also got on well with the people around me and everyone at the company was really positive.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • The company definitely made an effort to make us feel like any other co-worker. People were always communicating with us and trying to get to know us outside being a summer school trainee. The managers and past interns & school leavers can be espiecially credited for this.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Most of the time we were left to our own devices, however we definitely were supported on every new task at the beginning and at the end to make sure we're on the right track and are being accurate. However if we needed support at any time there was always someone who you could ask.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As I'm hopefully looking to continue with this company I think everything I learned I will value and will need at some point to help me in the future. The business knowledge recieved will also help with my ACA qualification that I will try to obtain.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The two weeks were well structured. I thought it was pretty impressive the first day having all the trainees from the companies' offices across the country come together at Baker Street for an introductory day to help ease any nerves and bond with the people that you have in your own office. The rest of the time there was plenty of work to do and I couldn't think of a time that I was without something to do. I also have to note that the company deals with travel really well. I was driving every day and so I was given a parking space for the two weeks - but even if you had to take the train for example your travel costs can be refunded.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • For the work that we were doing I think a good effort was made to keep the atmosphere positive and as exciting as possible. For example you would be changing tasks quite often.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I think a relatively sound amount of time was spent preparing us before any work that we were about to undertake.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I think admittedly it would be hard for the company to give me a full idea of what to expect but in terms of some of the work and days I would be fully in the office I would be extremely clear as to how it would all function.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • I have nothing to compare this too but I did feel that I understood some of the company's culture.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Before the placement I was completely unsure of my career path or if I should apply to university and now i'm totally set and preparing to continue with this company after my education. It makes me feel a lot happier knowing my minds clear on this.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I could have been reimbursed expenses with petrol but chose not to as it was only little.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • As a group of trainees we were invited to two meals throughout our time and to a Summer Party by the company which were all really enjoyable and a great chance to speak to a variety of different other members of the company.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • I was actually surprised at how much I valued these, it could be said that some of the conversations I had during these events helped my decision to want to continue with the company.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • This was definitely mentioned but solely and briefly, I don't know too much added detail on this.

    3/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would totally recommend it to anyone with a business or maths mind looking to go into this field of work, or anyone undecided with good social skills as this could also be a good point of call.
