The Role
I really enjoyed my placement as it is a very good company to work for because of how fast pace it is. Also the work environment is extremely relax which very easy to get use to.
As my placement role was a full time role in itself, I was never treated like a placement student. This was great as I felt like a part of the team, also my coworkers were very welcoming and friendly.
My supervisor sat next to me which was great as I always had guidance with an new task i was allocated. I was always encouraged to attend training course to get the most of my placement. My team was always willing to help me no matter what the task was.
I was extremely busy during month end as you can expect working in finance. On a daily base I had a massive task list which I had to work through each day. I also was give numerous adhoc tasks to complete for management.
During the placement I was given a lot of responsibilities. Halfway through my placement I started making posting on the balance sheet during month end. For the start I was in charge of pushing A2 sale across the whole country.
My skills developed enormously because I received so much training both on the job and attended numerous training courses which were available at the company. All the excel and presentation courses which I attend will be extremely useful when I start working.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office is very relax but when it come to month end everyone is cracking do to meet deadline. They have a work hard play hard philosophy.
I do believe it was pretty well organised as from the day I arrived I was give targets to achieve.
Screwfix has invested a lot of resources in me as I attended numerous courses and visited numerous trade counters and warehouse.

Future employment at Screwfix is extremely appealing as the company is currently growing into Europe and it currently has over 460+ stores in the UK. I
The Culture
I lived with other placement student during my time at screwfix meaning that there was always something we could do. It pretty much felt like we were still at university. There was always something happening with our colleagues and we tried to meet up outside of work a lot.
Yeovil is extremely cheap place to live in. Your wage will go extremely far as rent and bill will be under £400 all in.
Although there isn't many clubs in Yeovil there is a lot of pubs and bars which you can go to. But you aren't very far from Bristol or Bath.
