The Role
I was working in marketing on the Lucozade brand and I genuinely think it was the best job ever. I was responible for some fairly big projects including various online campaigns and a 6 sheet (bus stop poster) campaign. It was also really good fun to work there because there was always so much going on, including PR events, TV shoots and lots of free tickets (to football and athletics events).
I was treated like a proper member of the team. People would often ask for my opinion on thier work and I was given a lot of support and advice by all my collegues.
My manager was great, I think this is a really important factor that will affect any placement. He would give me a lot of advice and really helped me develop over the year.
Really busy (especially nearer the end of my placement). However, thats how I liked it. I would much rather be busy than be bored.
So much more than I expected. I led some big projects with cross functional teams/agency's and was respponsible for the delivering the projects.
So useful. I feel like I've learnt more in my placement year than I have throughout the rest of my degree. I feel the skills i've developed will definately help me when I graduate.
The Company
There was always events and nights out organised. I went to loads of football games, athletics events and festivals.
This was the first year they had had placement students so it could have been better. However it was still fairly well organised and structured.
I did a lot of training courses and conferences. My manager also put a lot of his time into helping me develop.

There isn't really a process in place for returning because we were the first year they had placement students. Its definately still possible, so fingers crossed.
The Culture
Definately, there was a night out or event most weeks. I tended to socialise more with my team than with the other placement students.
Being in London it was obviously quite expensive - but it was worth it. I also found a lot of business events would be paid for.
Nothing that near my office but it didnt take too long to get into central london
Yes loads, including going to events or volenteering.
