The Role
I have really enjoyed this placement. It was a good balance of work, learning experience and fun events. I have learned a lot during this internship and will be going back to Morgan Stanley after my graduation. I would highly recommend it for your internship or placement.
We have really felt valued by other team members and managers, middle and high. We were taking part in real-world projects and felt that our work is really important to the company. We were encouraged and given feedback all the time. Really helpful.
We were given an adequate level of support and guidance through out the internship. It could have been better but the manager and supervisor were relatively busy and could not give us as much time as we and they would probably like. Overall however, it was enough.
I was relatively busy. There were times when it was a bit less busy, but on the other hand ,at some stages, we were really busy . Overall for most of the time, it was manageable and i did not have to stay after time to be able to complete my work. No complaints, i certainly was not bored.
I was given pretty large amount of responsibility. Not from the very beginning, but later on during the internship i was surprised at the level of responsibilities we were given. It was a positive thing as it showed how much trust the company placed in us.
The skill developed should help me beyond the studies tremendously. We had extra training we were able to take advantage of, including some industry certifications. That should be very helpful in my career outside the university. Not so much for the degree itself, but definitely for career prospects.
The Company
The atmosphere was very good. Everybody was pretty relaxed for most of the time at least. Pretty casual as well. At some times however, it could have been a bit quieter as it was hard to concentrate. But overall, probably the best office atmosphere i have ever encountered.
Organisation of the internship was very very good. From the induction on the first day and during the whole internship we had very good communication with the HR and good organization of the events. Can not complaint about anything. Also communication before the placement started was very good.
They have invested to a degree by allowing me to take some paid for training and certificates. which was very nice of them.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Job prospects are very appealing, already got the offer for the graduate place, cannot be happier.
The Culture
Social scene amongst the fellow colleagues was very good. We had few parties organized during the placement and we have had a lot of fun, inside the office and outside of working hours. Everybody was very friendly and committed to help each other. Cannot complaint
Costs were relatively low, i normally live in the same area, so it was not a surprise for me.
I do not normally go out late, only socialized during the organized events.
Yes, there was a lot of opportunities. We were encouraged to take part in volunteering exercise, which was extremely enjoyable (gardening in local park). We also had a bowling event, and some competitions outside of work. Overall it was a very good balance between work and outside of work activities.
