The Role
I enjoyed the learning process and the chance to learn new skills however I was not a huge fan of sitting at a desk all day. It was more fun when we got to visit station or do different things
I feel that I was given some quite tough work to do and everyone trusted me to do it however sometimes I felt some colleagues didn't trust the work I did and I had to work hard to prove it was correct
My manager was excellent at helping me and keeping up to date with my work. Arranging regular meetings and catch ups
Some days were stressful with lots of work and others has less on but I was given lots of projects to work on if I had time with less time stresses
Some projects were very prestigious reports to be written which meant I had a lot of responsibility
I think a lot, in terms of learning about the working environment and interacting with other it was excellent and you learnt things you could only get at work
The Company
The office was huge and there's often laughter and chats going on but everyone knew when to work and get on with work
My manager set up my work well, ensuring I always had projects I was happy with and checking I was doing the correct type of things
The gave me the chance to visit station and offered lots of volunteering opportunities as well as chances to get and learn new skills within working hours
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
You can skip some of the graduate process however you are not guaranteed a job
The Culture
Relatively, other ips got in contact and the yp network organised some events to get to know everyone
Relatively cheap however Cheltenham is more expensive
Good fun with local schools/uni and lots of young people
Loads of things to do around
