The Role
A very useful placement which gave me much needed nuclear experience, as well as giving me prospects for the future. It also allowed me to develop my personal skills, make contacts, and finish my dissertation at university.
I was treated as a full time member of the company, as well as attending social events.
Support was on hand wherever I needed it throughout my placement.
At times I was stuck on things to do, but generally my project occupied my time well.
My project was considered quite valuable to the company, and was treated with respect.
I developed some very useful skills related to analysis, report writing, presentation, industry knowledge and physics.
The Company
There were a fair number of young, enthusiastic individuals in the office, as well as many very experienced, irreplaceable long timers.
The placement was very well organised, I had both a project supervisor and internship supervisor. Time was taken to ensure the project was adequate for the needs of my dissertation.
I did not complete any training courses, but was given ample opportunity to develop and be put out of my comfort zone.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
There was unfortunately no employment available at the current time, but I had already sorted out a job at another company, so I didn't mind.
The Culture
Was invited to events and parties regularly, was fun!
Reasonably priced as far as I am concerned.
There area itself doesn't have any nightlife, but there are close by areas that are reasonable.
Social clubs, sports clubs, pride march, other events were available and were enjoyable.
