The Role
I honestly had the BEST SUMMER EVER.
The Wild Packs team and the team I worked with at camp both made me feel very much part of the team. I like with Wild Packs, I feel like they really do get to know you and your skills before looking to place you on a camp.
Again, with both Wild Packs and my camp I had great support and guidance/ training.
VERY!!! at camp you are busy there is no doubt about it however, you are working an playing in the SUN. The days fly by and the summer is over before you know it.
I was given quite a lot considering it was my first summer at camp, You are looking after other peoples children, therefore you 100% have a lot resting on your shoulders. With regards to activities and the running of camp, I wasn't given that much extra to do purely because I didn't need to and it wasn't my job.
Camp has made me more aware of the person I am today. I gained time management skills, leadership skills, patience and an appreciation for people that are different from me. I may not be able to use some of these skills in my degree however, I can in every other aspect of my life.
The Company
Camp office... is the BEST KIND OF OFFICE. When your office is playing outside in the sun, the fun literally never stops,
Wild Packs made the entire process getting to camp so seasmless. Camp itself, as chaotic things can get, the camp I worked at was set up great.
The camp I worked at believed that happy campers = happy staff and vise-versa. The leadership gave the best training to us and therefore we were able to give our best to the staff.

After a successful summer I have now been asked back for a second summer. With regards to the company itself (the camp), being in America, I would say the employment prospects are limited based on visas etc, but then again, I'm not an expert in that area.
The Culture
Camp days off... Lets just say they get FUN.
I didn't really spend that much money during the summer. When working you are covered for housing and also you meals. I spent a lot travelling but thet was my choice. During the summer though the cost of living is pretty cheap.
I was around 40 minutes away from the closest big town at camp. We had a few bars and a cinema etc, so it had everything we needed. The closest city was around 3 hours away.
Absolutely! The camp staff encouraged us to make the most of our days off, visiting national parks, going tubing, scuba diving etc.
