The Role
The job was varied, but the work level was very low. The team was small so I had very little to do, considering 2/3 were on holiday at any one point.
I felt like I was an extra part, not particularly useful just an extra body taking more time to be explained to than doing work.
My supervisor was on leave for roughly half my placement, so I did not interact with her much. Some guidance but not enough
Not very busy at all.
I felt my work was not actually being used, the exercises I was given were to fill my time rather than be of use.
Somewhat, working in an office filled my skills gap, however the time was not used to it's full potential. It had the potential to be absolutely fantastic, however it was mediocre.
The Company
Quiet.
Nobody seemed to know I was coming, nor that I was a graduate.
I spent one day on site, one day in Epsom Head Office. This was all the development and personal training I was given.
I would like to work for Atkins, I can see the potential for a fantastic company and workplace, however I have not experienced it yet.
The Culture
Not really, nobody talked. There was no lunch area, everybody ate at their desk. Someone spoke to me on my third day, asked if I wanted a cup of tea, this was the highlight of my interaction with other employees.
I stayed with a family friend.
N/A
Not with Atkins, only upon my own back.
