The Role
Environment was very friendly and company's culture was great. Did not feel any pressure from colleagues or senior employees
Bank of America Merrill Lynch is a tier 1 US investment bank and as such employees tend to be very busy. I have spent my summer working in their investment banking division and work flow was tough but never frustrating. Moreover, a cap on interns' hours was applied.
The Company
Very collegial and supportive. People took the time to teach and work with us on every project, from the simple bureaucratic one to the complex and dynamic ones.
Very well organised. Every activity was well thought and arranged. You could see that they spent time planning and have done this for a very long time.
Training was very good. They covered all the basic concepts of accounting, math, financial analysis and reporting. Training was carried out by a third-party company. Potential improvements might be obtained if small weekly training sessions (team/division specific) can be done.
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing. The company is a US bank, very stable and growing business model, although still deeply interconnected with the banking industry.
The Culture
London is a very expensive city but offers great opportunities to meet new people and find new friends.
