The Role
My placement has been one of the best opportunities and experiences of my life, I have been so fortunate to work for such a friendly, fun company who provide their employees with such a wide range of experiences.
I have worked for a wide range of companies but HP Inc has to be the best, I have never met so many lovely, friendly and kind people in one place. All employees are valued individually and all value team work, even as you walk through your office someone in a different department will smile at you... Soon enough everyone knows each other!
My manager was more of a mentor, he genuinely cared and wanted me to get the most out of the opportunity. We set up weekly calls to catch up and discuss any of my projects or any issues I was facing, he was also brilliant and helping me get involved in other projects and departments.
As I worked in events my role was up and down, sometimes I wouldn't be very busy but leading up to an event I would have more work and more projects to manage, that is just the nature of my job.
During my placement my manager allowed me to manage and own projects, the first event I worked at I mostly assisted with projects to help me learn. When it came to the second event and so on I began managing sections of the event and even go the opportunity to work with the CEO's team.
I have changed a lot since starting my placement, I have a much better understanding of the corporate world, how to work in an office and how events are run. I have developed my communication skills, time management, organisation skills and most importantly my confidence.
The Company
Very happy, hard working, friendly and polite!
For me HP Inc organised the placement really well, I had two phone interviews and one face to face to face.
The events team where I worked invested a lot in me, they allowed me to travel to Boston, Madrid and Barcelona to work on their events. It was really amazing.

Very, I would love to come back and work for HP Inc, it is a fantastic company.
The Culture
There were 20 interns at HP Inc and most weeks there was a social on a Thursday night, quite a lot of the time we met up and spent Halloween together!
Reading nightlife isn't crazy, it is mostly bars. If you are looking for a wild night you are better off going to London or Bristol unless you have a good group of friends.
