Office Agent Review

It was an exceptional 6 weeks, the team I worked with created a fun and energetic environment to work in, finding an appropriate balance between a professional working place and enjoyment environment.

Throughout my time with C&W I felt like the work I did was appreciated, and credit was given where credit was due. the value placed on the work I did encouraged me to continue to giving my all.

Reflection of the work I did helpt me to understand how I could improve, this prior reflection, as time went on allowed my to produce better work the first time round as I was able to take improvements and a better rawness into the next task.

I was kept busy for the majority of the time, this was due to regular communication between team member and my proactive nature to seek out work, this meant there were always a tasks to be getting on with.

I felt like I earned the trust of the team, which meant, in turn, was given more responsibility, creating documents for clients, collating information that was sent onto the firms senior directive or being entrusted to take viewings, made me feel like I was being of value to the team.

The skill i learnt will be of enormous valut upon graduation when i enter the industory however the practical skills that i learnt and ehnaced had little ovelap with the real estatet theory that i am covering in my BSc.

There was a healthy competitiveness within the team, this created energised and entertaining environment to work in, however this comradery didn't get in the way of the work, if anything it enhance the teams productivity, the transparency in the team meant that, information flowed and allowed for the most relevant up to date information exchange.

The internship ran seamlessly, we were efficiently integrated into our teams, and quickly understood what was required of us, we knew well in advance of activities and workshops that were scheduled so we could inform out teams of when we would be unavailable. We had a host of activities arranged for our benefit, presentations on market conditions and predictions, in conjunction with the companies projected future path and embracing change with innovation. This more academic aspect was matched socially with evening drinks to socialise and sports fixtures in Hyde Park.

I felt like a great deal of time was invested in me, all members of the team were kind enough to involve me with the projects they were working on and got me helping out where appropriate. Time was set aside to go through tasks I had undertaken in order to reflect and identify aspects of work that could be enhanced or ways in which I could go about performing the work more efficiently

Having spent 6 weeks with C&W I am certain that this is where I want my career in the industry to begin, I was, unfortunately, usucessufull at securing a graduate position, however, I was fast tracked to an assessment day, where I hope to impress and secure a graduate training position. Having had the opportunity to develop the practical day-to-day skill that is paramount I know that I am capable of performing these skills to a high level and look forward to strengthing my relationship with C&W.

There was a great social scene amongst fellow interns, we met for coffee most days, went out for lunches together, in addition to going out for a couple of drinks after work. Independently of the firm we arranged nights out and activities like going to a ping pong bar after work one Friday evening. Knowing that we were working with fun like-minded interns made the experience more enjoyable.

Despite staying in central London the cost of living was fairly high, the cost of public transport escalates quite quickly, especially as there was a fair amount of daytime travel around London. Lunched while at work can be done relatively inexpensively if prepared before hand, however, the more likely scenario is to pop out of the offie and grab something to eat, which then makes the affair a more expensive endeavour.

Our office was located in the West End of London, there countless bars and clubs to visit, from the not so cheap and cheerful, to the higher end of the spectrum that London in synonymous with. Soho was a great place to go in the evening with features such as kingly court it was a vibrant place to visit after work, for dinner and a drink.

There was a number of occasions where softball games were organised by C&W after work, this was an opportunity for us interns to get meet a few of the grads and get to know one another a little better while having a little bit of a runaround. Additionally events were arranges by the interns, whether that was a trip to a pig pong bar, or dinner out. due to our location we were never short of activities of trips after work.
