The Role
I really enjoyed my placement, I learned a lot and I was always kepy busy.
My team was very busy with an imminent release and even though they were friendly, I never felt I was trully in the team.
My manager was fantastic. He was always enthusiastic and I never felt bad about asking him questions. He helped me throughout the summer and I am very greatful that he is my manager.
It was a good mix. I had to get used to sitting in a chair all day however.
I was doing a mini project by myself that fit in with the rest of the team but my work wasnt affecting anyone else
I learned a lot about programming, working in a company from 9-5. I think it will afffect my work in the future.
The Company
Due to imminent release the atmosphere in the office was most people sticking to themselves and getting on with work.
The project was very well organised. My manager knew what i was going to be working on before i arrived.
I was allowed to go to any of the general learning lectures. We spent like 2 days on personal development.
Subsidised/Company Gym
I havent decided yet what i want to do with my life
The Culture
There were a lot of interns at the company. About 50 of us and we got on well with each other.
It wasnt very cheap or very expensive (compared to london) so i would say average
Nightlife wasnt great in cambridge. Then again i didnt really give it much of a chance since i went to london pretty much every weekend
There were a few activities to do around the town if you looked for them. I was never bored.
