The Role
Really enjoyable work. Worked with real problems that were occurring on the line
Made feel part of the team from the first day, occasionally met up with the team outside of work for meals and sporting activities
On the job learning as well as training days for any other skills required
Work was dictated by how much work you were willing to take on and felt comfortable with
Given the same responsibility as a qualified engineer, sometimes presenting out to high level management on issues
Great experience gained in a world class manufacturing facility that will help in my future career
The Company
Good atmosphere in the office. Everyone willing to help with issues and have a chat during the breaks
The process was later out clearly at the start of the placement, placement portal with helpful information and reviews to see how you were progressing in line with the company's expectations
I was able to attend several training days to help my in my professional development
Above 25 days holiday
JLR has an established graduate scheme and I would like to return to the company once graduated
The Culture
Coventry has a average social scene however living with other placement students in halls for the first couple of months meant there was always something going on
I assume cost of living was average for England but more expensive than Ireland
Few clubs and pubs in Coventry to help the weekends go in quicker
Joined a local GAA football club as well as played 5-a-side with work colleagues
