The Role
I really enjoyed my work placement at Travelport. I was provided with real responsibilities and I was given support and guidance. Placement year developed my all round game, through various opportunities such as charity work, intern assessment day and present to stakeholders.
My team made me feel at ease during my placement at Travelport I felt valuable by all my colleagues and others employees of Travelport and I was treated as a normal employee and felt apart of the Travelport group.
Throughout the year, my manager gave me a great deal of support and guidance. My progression was monitored and development was discussed during our one to one fortnight meeting. I also had a mentor who supported me job shadowing, CV skills and career development .
My role was split out by days of the month, earlier stages of the month, I found myself busy with month end reporting and the later stages I completed adhoc tasks and task that were asked by my team.
I was given a great deal of responsibility by my a manager, an amount that was comfortable, yet challenging for myself. As my skills and experience developed, I was able to take on more tasks and responsibilities.
I gained a range of software skills, this will aid me in my studies and beyond. I became proficient in using Excel, Powerpoint and Cognos through Travelport's online training.
The Company
My placement was very positive, due to the positive atmosphere at Travelport. Colleague and other employees were very friendly and made comfortable, made me a valuable member at Travelport.
The placement was very organised and structure, The placement offered interns various workshops and training session like enhancing CV, interview and LinkedIn skills. In additional different employees would come talk to the interns about their roles and provide us with advise with our future.
The firm and the people at the firm do invest their time and resource in order to aid to personal training and development. This is done through the range of online courses and managers helping you.

There are currently no Graduate programmes at Travelport, however previously interns have gone back to Traveport as full time employees.
The Culture
There was a fairly good social scene amongst the placements colleagues. There were regular meals and outings, more importantly we collaboratively raised money and volunteered for a charity and took part various fun runs.
Was slightly expennsive to go out socially, but I found accommodation that was quite cheap in Langley.
There was not much to do in Langley, but Windsor and London were not too far away.
Travelport had a social club that had regular activities outside of work.
