  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • Very insightful and was able to work on client site from the offset.

    • Always given work to do thatgraduates would do, felt very valued.

    • Was able to contact my counsellor whenever I had any issues, very helpful.

    • Some days were busier than others but summer doesn't tend to be a busy time.

    • I was given the responsibility of graduates and even 3rd year graduates, I felt trusted.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • Excel and software skills are always needed in finance. Very usefull indeed.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • Sometimes quiet by depending on who was in it tended to be friendly and people always offered to get me a drink which was nice.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

    • If i didn't include week 1 this would be atleast a 9. But I was left with no buddy and no work in the office for my first week.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • Not really expecting EY to invest in me much on a 6 week placement, however was invited to away days and socials and given the opportunity to shadow a partner on client site, very informative

    • I would work there but a different department, I found the work i did just did not suit my goals.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • Yes! Team socials, office socials, away days and weekly drinks and sports events.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

    • I cannot comment on cost of living as I commuted from Liverpool, socialising was fair for Manchester.

    • Great choice of nightlife as expected in a large city like Manchester.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?

    • Yes, unfortunately due to injury I couldn't participate in the sports events.
