The Role
My placement has taught me a great deal and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I had some challenges which have made me a better and more equipped engineering for the future. Everyday came with its own unique challenges
Due to the nature of the projects I was working with all types of people in different fields and I have found that I can learn from everyone I come in contact with. It was an environment which allowed for learning and development as well as pressure which allowed me to show cast what I have learnt in some cases.
I had a lot of contact with management, almost on a daily basis, it allowed me to have more confidence in my decision that I make out on site and at the same time it helped me build the trust with the team In general.
The workload varied and you get busy times and times where it is not so busy and you can focus more on paper work. All in all you had a lot of time learning and developing and never got bored.
The project team takes everyone serious and with this, responsibility increases very quickly. I found the more that I put in the more respect and responsibility I was given
I managed to take what I have learnt into my final year of university and achieved very high grades, especially in my dissertation. I was also able to communicate more effectively with my lecturers and class mates.
