The Role
All of the employees at Deloitte were very welcoming, I had great exposure in a professional environment, which provided me with very valuable experience.
As soon as I arrived I was given work, I felt like I had responsibility on my shoulders and an asset to the team.
All of the employees were ready to help and answer any questions that I had. I did not feel hesitant to ask for help at any occasion.
I was given new work on a daily basis as I was allocated an employee to shadow for the day. Once I finished the work I would always ask for more and nearly every time I would be given more to do.
I was given a good amount of responsibility such as research and performing duties on behalf of clients (such as enquiries to HMRC).
I was working in the corporate tax division, unfortunately I do not have a taxation module in my third year but some of the knowledge I gained was applicable to other modules. The skills learned however were very valuable for my studies.
The Company
Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
I was very impressed by the organisation of the internship. Every one of my days was planned out and I was given a timetable for my whole time at the beginning of the internship so I knew what to expect on rah days.
I was given various digital lessons to do such as confidentiality etc. But I was not trained specifically in the division I was in.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
I was fortunate enough to be offered a positon.
The Culture
Social events were organised every week or so.
Cardiff, very affordable.
Very good night life.
Societies within the organisation for activities such as sport etc.
