Spring into tax intern Review

It was a great experience and helped me to get an idea of what working in the tax world would entail. All the recruitment staff were very friendly and very helpful and made all of the interns feel at home. Although it was only two days, they managed to fit lots of information in.

I definitely felt valued during the insight and that all the recruitment staff were very happy to welcome us. On the first night, there was a dinner at the hotel with all the interns and also a number of Deloitte staff. They were all very friendly and talkative and gave honest answers to any and all questions we asked. I was very impressed and felt like they were happy to meet us all.

The recruitment staff and all other Deloitte staff made sure that we knew we could ask that whatever we wanted and they would be happy to help with any requests. In fact, they encouraged us to ask as many questions over the two days as possible to find out as much as we could. I felt like I received lots of guidance about career progression, in terms of a potential summer internship as well as the grad scheme that might follow.

As well as receiving lots of specific information about tax consultancy at Deloitte, there were also a number of different presentations on etiquette and attitude in business. In this way, the insight was not only helpful in giving me an idea on what tax consultancy entails but also general business life and so I can take the skills I developed to any career after my studies.

The insight was very well structured and even though it was only two days long, we received lots of pertinent information. On each day, there were a number of presentations from both Deloitte staff members and external speakers. All the presentations seemed like they were well chosen and none were made just to fill time. All the information we received was very helpful.

There was a very good atmosphere throughout the insight right from the beginning. All the other interns were very friendly and the recruitment staff were too and made us all feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. In my opinion, the atmosphere at this insight was a major reason in why I enjoyed it so much and why I was able to take in and retain lots of the information.

I feel like the firm invested a lot in all of us. They provided a hotel as accommodation for us over the course of the insight experience, which felt like a real investment in us. Also, the fact that so many staff dedicated so much time to us was very impressive and it felt like they were really interested in us. Also, they even hired external speakers to come in to give presentations.

The insight really helped me understand what the next steps would be and what a career at Deloitte in tax would be like. There were a number of Deloitte staff who had previously done the insight days and that followed on to the summer internship and grad scheme. These staff gave their recent experiences which were very helpful and allows us to get to know what we might have to do.

There was lots of emphasis on the company culture and business culture in general. In particular, lots of emphasis was placed on the values of the company and what atmosphere in business breeds success. This aspect of he insight days was very refreshing to see that the company places a lot of care of how their employees work and not only their performance, it certainly made me a lot more interested in pursuing a career here.

All the content that we received on each day of the insight experience seemed very pertinent and relevant to a career pry that we might choose with Deloitte. We received lots of information about how best to obtain a summer internship with them, what that internship would entail, as well as information about career paths after a summer internship. I feel like I learned a lot about a future I could have with Deloitte.
