About You
Gave fantastic insight into what a graduate role would be like. Worked as part of an audit team on clients sites and also in office to get a good view of what this career would involve.
As I was only there for three weeks I knew very little in comparison to everyone else. I assisted where I could but just due to my lack of experience I didn't feel as though I added much value.
I was shown a variety of tasks and was shown what to do for each task. If I had a question there was always someone available to ask.
I have only returned to studying recently and only worked for three weeks at Deloitte. But one beneficial skill was time management as this has helped to keep track of all my deadlines for coursework now I am back at university.
The Company
There was a welcome event for all regional offices in Birmingham. This event was a lot of fun and well organised. However, my first few days actually working did lack planning as I went to the Cambridge office and was then told to go to London to go to a client. When I got to the client there was very little work for me to do so just did training. The following two weeks were much better and had to opportunity to work with a variety of people on a number of different tasks.
Everyone was very friendly and approachable. Always willing to answer your questions and help if needed.
There was no training other than standard compliance etc type training.
Worked alongside graduates so got to see what a graduate role involved.
The culture felt more relaxed than expected. As long as all work is completed on time and nothing is missed the hours seemed more flexible. This is what I could judge from other employees as I just stuck to my standard hours of 8.45-5.15
I was very keen on auditing before the placement, but I am still very motivated to pursue this career.
Everything Else
Travel to and from client sites is reimbursed. Also received a salary.
Throughout the placement I did work for different managers so go the meet new people depending on which client I was working on.
A social event was organised for the interns and some graduates. Went bowling together after work.
Thee were emails sent round about activities available, such as drinks to celebrate people passing exams.
Gives great insight into what the career is like. Also received a graduate offer which makes final year much easier as I don't need to apply for jobs.
