The Role
Although tiring, I learnt so much during my placement and had the opportunity to meet various people.
As my placement was in Audit, it meant that my teams change a lot. However I felt as though my contributions were very much valued in almost all the teams I was in
Having little to no knowledge, it was a requirement for my seniors to coach me and provide a lot of support. This happens in all the teams I was put in
At the start of my placement, due to my little knowledge. I was not in high demand and therefore was not very busy. However as time when by and resourcing was low, I was in demand and became very busy on a daily basis
I was given a lot o responsibility during my placement which I loved. I could set up my own meetings, design my own testing templates, etc.
to a high extent. My time management skills have drastically increased.
The Company
Atmosphere varied due to the fact that teams were constantly changing. However it didn't take long for people to gel.
Organised to a certain extent. My placement was based in Luton, which is a small office and as a result I was the only industrial placement student. It therefore took me quite some time to settle in to the office. I expected to be put with the grads quite a lot and undergo training with them however I was segregated. Aside from that the set of the placement was very organised
Had the opportunity to undergo 2 out of the 15 ACA exams.
Working from home
Only to a certain extent. Have the change to gain a lot of knowledge and have a lot of responsibility. However working hours are very very long and pay could be higher due to the fact that working hours are very long.
The Culture
I was the only industrial placement student
I didn't live in the area and therefore wouldn't know
I didn't live in the area and therefore wouldn't know
various socials and after work drinks
