The Role
My time with Mattel was very interesting, there was a lot of little projects to do all year round which complimented my job. These fell alongside my main responsibilities so that I always had plenty to do. A very friendly office with a great work ethic
I was never looked upon as an "Intern" I was always treated as a full time member of staff and never looked over.
I worked Closely alongside my manager having daily conversations and updates regarding current tasks, projects and daily lives
Depending on the time of the year, my job role varied. I could be very busy over certain periods of the year whilst others would have just enough to keep me occupied.
Once I was fully trained in my specific role, the responsibilities increased. I began my placement relying on my manager to help and guide me but by the end I was in full control.
The skills i learnt during my placement aloud my to specialize in my final year and understand the key functions of my project
The Company
It is a very friendly office and the colleagues were very approachable
With a solid base and a good structure the organisation of the internship never failed
I was put onto a management course which helped to build my confidence
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare from home
Not as hopeful as I had wished but the possibilities are there
The Culture
I took part in staff runs and events to help build upon the social aspect
With a house and bills paid for by the company, it helped a lot with living in a new country. food was expensive for a quiet area,
The area itself had next to no nightlife but with the capital city 20 minutes away you couldnt go wrong.
Depending on the person, If you wish to get involved and find clubs and activities there is a lot to be discovered
