The Role
The placement was very much like a real job. As an individual, you are respected with great integrity from the day you walk in the building from the day that you leave. The placement was very challenging but as in anything you do in life, what you put in, is what you get out. The role was very enjoyable, you had support from all angles and the role was extremely enjoyable
Through monthly appraisals, the line managers really emphasised the point that you are integral to their team and not just a piece of dead weight through a placement scheme
To this day, I will always have support and guidance from the management team. The team are open to assist at all levels and you have no fear of doing something wrong
Due to the role being reactive there could be days that you would be only doing your general day to day activities, However, when all goes wrong you had to have the ability and ability to adapt
As mention previously the roles I undertook were a real role, We had 8,000 colleagues that would cast their eyes over our task, if undertaken incorrectly the scale of the issues was multiplied massively
With any placement, you undertake you will always gain insight to further your studies. Screwfix has given me a lot experience over the last year. Life experience and skills to adapt towards study will always be something that I will appreciate from Screwfix
The Company
Screwfix has a very friendly family feel aspect. Across all floors and all levels of the hierarchy you feel that you are treated with respect and integrity. The canteen serves great food and the people around are always happy.
Verry organised, the team in placed structured why what and when you had specific tasks to undertake
Every day felt like you were being trained, however you always had the opportunity to undertake further training if desired. there is always training on with a number of different criterias
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Upon graduation and travelling I will definitley consider a move back to Screwfix head office without doubt
The Culture
Unfortunately, Yeovil isn't the greatest location due to it being in the countryside and not an prosperous city, however the team were so close together we could have fun anywhere
Lived at Home
A few clubs and bars
All the time, we did tough mudder, social events, quadbiking etc
