About You
I found the Women and Technology Insight Programme at Schlumberger very useful and quite fun. It was two days long, Schlumberger took care of the accommodation and travelling costs making it easier to go the insight programme without having to worry about these details. During the insight programme we were initially divided into group depending on the course we were studying/ the department we would most like fit into in Schlumberger. There we did a job shadowing were we were given presentations about what the different roles entail we also go a tour of the Storehouse campus and all the different sectors within Schlumberger there. At each site we were informed of their roles and got to meet people who do these roles :) We also had group challenge were we were given a case study and we had to figure out why a certain drilling job did not succeed this was very interesting as we got to learn to think about what Schlumberger even though we were all from different backgrounds - they do teach you more about how things work at schlumberger. We got to meet interns who are currently working at SLB and they informed us of their amazing experience working as a field engineer or in research ( you can move within SLB that was great to know!) All in all, I am so glad I went!Oh did i mention the food was GREAT!
Very much so!
Enough but not too much that we don get to explore more about SLB!
We got to present our group findings on the case study and that taught me presentation skills, problem solving, analytical think and group collaboration!! AWESOME - BEST PART!
