    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The Internship was incredibly enjoyable from start to finish, as I was made very welcome by The Bobby Moore Fund team whilst also being given responsibility from the get go. This allowed me to feel I was contributing towards the funds events and also day to day running of the partnership, which made it incredibly enjoyable. The Cancer Research UK offices create a great working environment with like minded individuals scattered around the organisation.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager and I met weekly in order to check on my progress on tasks, as well as giving me new tasks that were created on a day to day basis, which was very useful as it gave me a clear direction my work was taking me. She also was invested in me as an individual as we talked through past experiences and how I can relate my experience to job applications/jobs.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Obviously this was dependent on the time of the internship, but during the internship as a whole I believe there was a good balance. I was given tasks which varied in importance so I was able to prioritise them and therefore when I didn't have anything pressing I could prepare fro future projects.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Over the course of my placement I think I had a great amount of responsibility and trust put in me. This was due to my manager conveying that she trusted me and wanted to give me more responsibility as the internship went on.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills developed allowed me to think of other experiences in which I had used these skills in my degree programme in order to have more to talk about during interviews. Also the CV and presentation sessions allowed me to improve these aspects of my application processes in order to improve the likelihood of getting a job after the internship.
