The Role
I really enjoyed my internship. I was supported and encouraged to work on a range of tasks from briefing papers to presentations and project-managing my own research and creating a report.
Very valued!
My manger has been extremely supportive, whether that was concerning my workload, being conscience of making this the best experience to develop my skills or reviewing job applications for my next step.
I have been very busy on a daily basis, which I have loved. I had full ownership of the work I was doing,
I project-managed research and writing a report on the barriers cancer patients and service providers experience when accessing/delivering chemotherapy and radiotherapy. This included holding a focus group via the sounding board, engaging with service-providers across the UK and organising a meeting with the radiotherapy department to the University College London Hospital, to gather data.
This internship has developed my communication skills, time management and project-management. It has enabled me to transfer my theoretical knowledge gained from my degrees into a practical experience.
The Company
I started my internship just after the Brexit vote, so the office was busy and buzzing. However, I enjoyed working in such a fast-paced environment.
Very organised!
Provided us with workshops of CV, Interview Skills, LinkedIn and presentations.
It is appealing, however I think I am more suited in an international development based organsiation.
The Culture
Yes there was, especially among the interns.
Central london, can be expensive.
The pubs were great.
Not really.
