The Role
I enjoyed my internship quite a lot. At points it was quite challenging but I gained a number of valuable skills and worked alongside a great time.
Felt very much part of the team. My managers and teams members were always at hand to help out with any of my queries.
Throughout the internship a lot of guidance was provided. I was able to meet my managers on a weekly basis to discuss the internship. My managers were also always at hand to provide support in any of the tasks.
Overall, during my internship I was involved in three different projects which varied in size and had different deadlines. This meant that I was quite busy throughout my internship, but the workload varied daily and was based on any approaching deadlines.
Throughout my internship, I had a number of key responsibilities which ranged from managing the enquiries that came through to the team to making a guide for the team to assist them with their analysis.
I have developed a number of valuable transferable skills particularly time management, prioritisation and communication skills.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office is great. The office has an open layout due to which the office is always lively. There is also a sense on community within the office. Everyone in the office is also very friendly and are approachable, making it a good atmosphere for new interns.
The internship was well organised. Guidance was provided to interns from day one and queries were answered promptly. During the internship personal development was endorsed and different workshops were set up during the 12 weeks, which were quite helpful. While interns were allocated to specific teams, interns were encouraged to explore different teams, which was useful in understanding the different projects occurring in different parts of the organisation.

Future employment prospects within the organisation are good. Interns are actively encouraged to apply for jobs within the organisation and are frequently informed about upcoming jobs. While many of the jobs are quite competitive, having experience of working within the organisation is a clear advantage as you are already exposed to the working environment.
The Culture
There was a great social scene amongst the interns. Weekly socials were established from the start of the internship, which allowed all the interns to bond. Furthermore, a volunteering committee was also established within the cohort and a number of fundraising events were carried out which gave interns a chance to work as a team to plan and carry out events.
Cost of living is quite high in London and many interns chose to travel from home, due to which daily cost of travelling was quite high. However, in terms of socialising Angel has a number of great bars and restaurants, some of which are budget friendly. Many of the social events that were organised were also budget friendly.
The main activity that interns were encouraged to take part in was fundraising. During the internship a fundraising committee was established which planned different events. Other interns had an opportunity to take part in the running of these events. Interns were also encouraged to volunteer in events held by CRUK.
