About You
I really enjoyed the insight - for a week long placement there was very little that could have been improved upon. There was a good balance of relevant sessions organised by the scheme and time spent in your department doing real work
I felt encouraged and made part of the team - though in a week it's difficult to feel valued as such because it's acknowledge you'll be gone in a few days!
Excellent guidance and support from my trainee buddy and from partners in the department, which was fantastic. They all gave me plenty of work and always had time to explain things, and welcomed questions. I saw less of my supervisor who was very busy that week, but i do not think this was typical.
As I am a graduate, they were not relevant to my degree. I definitely learnt a lot though and it has definitely motivated me to pursue a career as a commercial lawyer.
The Company
It was very well structured - a good balance of organised learning / information sessions, all of which were relevant and engaging, as well as time in the department. In my case, I was never overworked during the week, but I was kept consistently busy with tasks and everyone was always very supportive.
Very positive. The firm was very welcoming and my department made me feel involved and part of the team from the outset - all were interested in asking me questions about myself, my background etc. I felt encouraged to be myself and get what I could out of the week. The cohort of interns were good fun too, and the atmosphere amongst us was always very positive and amicable
Given that it was only a week, we had a good number of learning sessions
Yes certainly - we had sessions which allowed us to speak with members of the firm at all levels
Very much so - I think it is impossible to get a real sense of a firm without spending time there
Extremely helpful - it has made my decision an informed one and it has motivated me to pursue this career
Everything Else
More than adequately for a week's work
Yes many - 2 sessions in particular
Yes -we had a very good social event to close the week which was good fun, and also welcome drinks
Yes from current trainees in an organised session and more informally in the department whilst working
Definitely
