The Role
I have really enjoyed my placement and I found the projects I worked on interesting and challenging to work on.
I felt valued from my colleagues from very early on and that I was potentially of use to the company.
Whenever I experienced any problems I had a multitude of people that I could discuss the problem with.
I always had a task to complete every day meaning that I never got bored. Although I did have a large amount of work, I never felt that there was too much work.
The projects that I worked on only had minor involvement from my supervisor, but the majority of the work and responsibility was on me.
There were many different skills that I have learnt whilst working with ARM that will be a benefit in the future. The placement has also spurred me on to develop some of these skills further.
The Company
The office had a good atmosphere and seemed to be quite relaxed. This didn't hinder work being completed.
The projects I have worked on have been very smooth, with an explanation at the beginning of the placement and only pointers from then on.
I felt that the company did supply some personal training beyond the expected, but more than this amount would have felt excessive for a summer placement.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym

Healthcare from home
ARM looks like a really great place to work, and I am looking forward to another placement during summer next year.
The Culture
There was a great social scene for fellow placement students with social events every night after work. There were also various sports teams that were very enjoyable to become part of during the placement
The area isn't cheap for living, nor is it for socialising.
Cambridge doesn't have much of a night life.
There was a whole range of activities to get involved with, from sports clubs and raising money to video gaming evenings.
