About You
Definitely a very good experience, it was very interactive and there was an opportunity to network with EY employees which gave interesting insights into their daily work.
I felt EY had really invested time and effort in making this experience useful through many different exercises so definitely felt valued.
We were divided in small groups of 5 or 6 in order to complete group exercise like case studies. Each group was assigned an EY employee, which was very useful to answer various doubts and give us some guidance in the exercises.
From the different presentations, I was able to develop a greater understanding of the different service lines EY have and build a greater notion of business management. We had to complete and present a group case study which developed my team work and presentation skills greatly.
The Company
Extremely well, the different presentations followed a nice order and there where exercises and breaks to network with EY employees.
People were very open, the atmosphere was quite relaxed and EY employees were very approachable.
Despite being a short insight, I believe the company did invest time and effort in making the presentations relevant and the exercises useful. We were also given food and drinks which was very nice!
Presentations gave a very good insight into the different service lines but the networking side of the event was crucial in order to develop a greater understanding into how the daily routing of working at EY is, including the way the approach a client, gather information and present their findings.
EY employees were keen to highlight the collaborative atmosphere at EY and gave personal examples of situations where they were able to take advantage of this culture to either work in cases that really interested them or follow different paths. This was one of the things that came across the most throughout the presentations.
Extremely useful, in my case I was able to discover a very interesting sub service line called ITRA within EY which I would never had thought to be so interesting. After the insight, I even completed an application for an internship in this sub service line.
Everything Else
Evidently, I was not expecting to be paid for such a short insight as we didn't even work for EY so being reimbursed for travel expenses was more than enough.
As I said before, this was one of the most important parts of the event and one of the most useful since EY employees could give their personal views and also comment on how they progressed from university to working at EY, important for any of the people who are considering completing a graduate scheme.
Very good, I described it in the question above.
Yes, and it they were surprisingly good considering the amount of work that EY employees have to complete. Their where different sports teams, travel opportunities and many other activities to build a good team atmosphere.
If you are considering a job at EY, Discover EY will definitely open your eyes to many service lines which you didn't thought were interesting or relevant to your degree and actually are. Moreover, you develop a greater understanding on how to approach case studies and if you try to network, the experience will be very enjoyable.
