The Role
really was a good working environment and lots of fun
team were great and really relaxed and full of compliments and of course useful advice, with regards to any topic you would like to talk about.
every manager is different, and my manager was relaxed and hands off. provided support whenever i asked, and let me get on with my work. Was not ideal towards the beginning of placement, but after a couple of months in, its exactly what was suitable for my role.
there were a some times when I was a bit bored, and sometimes when working a bit later than I planned, but was mainly my choice. Nature of work meant that there is no daily work, mainly project work that had a large timescale, or ad hoc work that should be completed there and then.
I was given flexibility in what I pursued and what way to go forward with my projects. Was given a good amount of responsibility on colleagues' projects also and felt that they would trust me to do a good job. Whilst not working on the very core side of things, there was enough important things to do.
Learnt most things on the job, and all skills i have developed will be useful in the future. for my degree the programming skills are a given that developed.
The Company
always people around to talk to, casual and relaxed atmosphere to ensure work would flow without overdoing it. everyone was happy to work or talk or both!
lacking a few events throughout but the internship group that you are placed in is well organised and a good group feel. A few formalities mixed with more social integration was good, requires a bit more work.
company willing to help work out any problems, team very helpful in giving their time and knowledge to whoever asks. additional software just a matter of asking away.

Working from home
They train you and guide you with the hope that you want to come back.
The Culture
being placed in a group of all placement students, everyone gets along and events are organised amongst ourselves, e.g. football, drinks, days out.
As expected of central london, way over priced, but not relative to other central locations.
good bars and clubs all over london
I feel that most activities are for yourself to arrange, with colleagues and friends. a job is not all about the work.
