The Role
I did not enjoy the actual role itself, however the people I met made everyday enjoyable and the extra experiences such as the presentation skills course at Bradenham Manor and the CR day were excellent and a great way to socialise with other interns.
My colleagues were incredibly friendly, helpful and fun to work with. The work I did was really valued, I wasnt just doing odd jobs.
When I expressed an interest in another department, managment were very helpful and arranged for my final interview to be with that department instead of the one I did my internsip with. It is a very flexible company.
Most days I was busy and the time flew. However I was not put under any pressure if I was taking a little longer to complete certain tasks.
I was given real work, not just making coffee and photocopying! I worked at 3 different client sites so had a real varied and hands on experience.
The internship has given me a vast range of skills that will help in the rest of my degree, my future career and beyond. In particular, the presentation skills course was so valuable to me and I believe I will benefit hugely from it
The Company
I thouroughly enjoyed working alongside my colleagues. Not a day went by without fun and laughter and I was actually in tears from laughing on more than one occassion!
On my first day I was given a timetable with everything for the whole internship set out. So I knew what I was doing and when, and there was a great variety of things to do.
Grant Thorntn really value their interns. The presentatiobs skills course and CR day illustrate this. The internship gave me a deep and honest insight into a career in that area and when I decided to apply to another department within the firm, I was fully supported.

Financial Bonus
I've got my dream job lined up with them starting next September!
The Culture
There were only 5 other interns in my particular office but everyone was really sociable and I got along really well with them.
Milton Keynes is a fairly expensive place to live in and go out in.
Milton Keynes has a lively nightlife at weekends.
Many opportuities including fundraising for the CR day and joining sports teams/clubs.
