The Role
Lots of team work and was thrown into working on new products for VIP customers
Regularly called upon to give opinions and was given credit when helped
Everyone always had time and were patient.
I things to do on most days but some were slower especially during training days.
I worked on many things and were given a lot of freedom to interpret instructions, but obviously I always had someone double check my work.
Team work is a large part of my degree and I learnt both how to delegate and also to seek help when unsure.
The Company
Very busy but all very friendly and would make time when someone asked them something.
Had some logistic issues on my side but they were more than happy to rearrange interview and placed me exactly where I needed to be on day 1
I was given access to almost all places and everyone was open when I asked if I could help in something I was not assigned to. I could attend all training sessions that was on and were motivated into jumping into their conference calls to get a taste of their work.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Very friendly place and has a lot of job promotion opportunities.
The Culture
Went out to socialise many times during my internship and people were all very nice and offered to buy lunch/drinks.
China is cheaper than the UK in general but the financial area in Shanghai is similar to London.
Lots of expats and great restaurants and bars.
many people left work at different times but there are always someone to leave with you.
