About You
The insight was highly enjoyable as I had the opportunity to explore every function within Group Function, which was the main purpose of applying for the program. What I enjoyed even more was work-shadowing, as I was able to enjoy the office tour, see what employees do on a daily basis, and physically feel the vibe of an office.
Having the opportunity to speak to from graduate students to senior managers was a priceless experience. Networking has given me insights into Barclay's culture to a greater extent.
Every speaker or person I have met throughout the week was supportive, always giving me their contact details and telling me that they always accept questions. Moreover, when I joined a video conference, employers were more than happy to further explain what they were having a meeting about.
Networking has actually helped me to become more aware of diversity, which I believe will help me to broaden my horizon in my academic studies. Moreover, what I did not found interesting in Finance class happened to be a very fascinating topic for me, in which I realized from hearing employer's talks. I am excited to go back to school and start my studies from scratch.
The Company
The insight was very well-structured, well-organized. Every event followed the schedule, and all the speakers were on time to share their knowledge and experiences. Enough of time given for lunch was also really nice.
The insight program was generally very friendly and supportive. Everyone was passionate about learning, which further incentivized me to push myself harder to be more attentive and to become a more effective member. I am confident that I have developed myself as a person from this atmosphere during the insight.
The company has helped me to obtain knowledge on every division which I enjoyed the most. At the same time, networking event has helped me to strengthen my personal skills.
The most fascinating aspect of the insight program was to realize how much I can see myself working with the people from Barclays. The values it holds, its environments, and opportunities it gives have motivated me to become more passionate throughout the week to work for Barclays in the morning.
It clearly conveyed me the understand the company culture. The values were always emphasized. The shared knowledge about Barclays was everyone being very supportive and the opportunities that Barclays gives.
The content has actually further motivated me to continue pursuing for financial industry, just because I find the environment exciting and learning challenging. I truly like the nature of the financial industry.
Everything Else
As I personally thought I learned so much from the insight, I thought I would rather be the only paying.
Yes, not only restricted to graduate students but as well as senior managers - it was a very valuable experience.
They were very well organized with structure as well as nice drinks and food. At the same time, the fact that there was a diversity in people's roles was very impressive.
Yes, I did ask them personally to find out more about them and their job, as activities outside of work also reflect people's characters and personalities.
I would certainly recommend this insight to a friend, as it involves a lot of learning and networking that I cannot gain elsewhere.
