About You
I really enjoy the insight.
I feel that I am highly valued by Barclays.
Quite a lot of guidance.
My networking skills are developed the most.
The Company
The spring internship is well structured but the schedule may be too tight.
Very friendly and nice
The company has placed huge amount of investments in their interns. The spring internship is very well structured with lots of opportunities for work shadowing and for networking. Always with your questions prepared, grasp the opportunity and utilise the time to its maximum.
The work shadowing is the best way of understanding the overview of Barclays and it will be better if more opportunities for work shadowing. The employees from the graduate programme will show you what his/her day is like and what he/she is doing right now. You could definitely gain an insight into group functions.
Very much of insights like the values, how Barclays function as a world leading bank. You will gain an understanding of five values of Barclays and understand that Barclays, as a value added firm has placed huge amount of emphasis on the values. Moreover, employees here are very nice and very inspiring!
Through the work shadowing, you can gain a clear picture of each career's requirements and all the specific details of the career. He/she who you shadow with will also show you his/her desk and bring you to meet his/her team so that it allows you to know what each career is all about.
Everything Else
Yes! There are plenty of opportunities for networking. There are three networking sessions. One is general networking. The second one is graduate networking. The last one is senior networking. You have the opportunity of talking with a wide range of people with different rankings across the group functions.
Very well structured but some of them may be too fast. There are plenty of opportunities for networking but all of them are very informative and useful, but the room might be too small, accommodating so many people and also the time is too short for networking and they can't really remember our faces.
Yes. The working hour is very flexible and they do have their own hobbies.
Definitely, for those whole are interested in Barclays. If you are really interested in group functions, don't waste opportunities and join it as soon as possible! Do apply early and keep in mind that the space is limited to the extent that the earlier you apply, the higher chance of getting in.
