Spring Intern Review

It was a fantastic experience which I enjoyed a lot. This is because not only did we get to speak to senior memebers within the area, but also we spoke to graduates who currently work in the area so we can get both perspectives. Overall a great experience which i would reccomend for anyone!

I felt extremely valued in terms of this placement. A set structure showed clear guidance and helped me settle in within the firm. I also appreciated how the firm allowed us students to participate in certain tasks which helped with regards to active learning and gave us a more first hand approach to this work placement.

I received a lot of support during this insight. I feel i gained a lot of feedback which was necessary to help me further decide on a career path that i wish to follow. I also received a lot of support for interpersonal skills which were very important in an environment like this.

I feel the skills received will be invaluable. Having learnt a lot about the Risk area, I feel I have picked up on several interpersonal skills and learnt new information within the finance industry. Overall I feel these skills will be important for me in the future and I will be able to apply these in several areas.

The structure of the insight was done extremely well. I feel there was a clear path especially with the use of the app giving us a timetabled set of events that we needed to do and in doing so i feel this made the event clear and more enjoyable. Overall a great structure which was helped with the mobile application.

The atmosphere was very friendly and great. Everyone was very friendly and also I enjoyed the atmosphere. It helped us settle in on the first day and the classroom like set up allowed for a more engaging experience rather than having a one to one experience.

I feel the firm investeted in us very well. There was a lot of networking which showed the firm invested in us. Furthermore they allowed us to shadow workers and hence i feel the firm wanted us to get the most out of the experience

I feel shadowing workers helped us feel how it would be when doing the job. However we did not get the chance of shadowing a whole day of work and seeing how it the whole day of work would look like within the process.

The insight helped understand company culture especially with Barclays drilling in their values. I feel I gained a better understanding

I have now a better idea of what i want to do in a career

Several opportunities which did help in terms of contacting.

They were excellent with several people from all around the Group Functions Division coming in and giving us great advice.

We gained a brief idea of CSR strategies and other areas within Barclays.

I would definitely reccomend this programme to a friend.
