About You
I enjoyed it a lot. There is a great combination of speeches, interactive sessions and work shadowing.
I feel valued by the graduates when doing interactive games. They really respect our contributions. Moreover, during the networking sessions, the senior speakers and graduates are all really friendly and helpful and they value us as potential talents.
We are guided by the graduates during the interactive sessions. Moreover, during work shadowing, our mentors are really helpful and they offered us a lot of support. They even went an extra step further to offer future support.
I think this is a great opportunity to gain insights into what it is like to be working in the industry. I got the opportunity to talk to employees in different functions and at different levels ranging from MD to recent graduate. Finding out about their career path and learning what they like and dislike about their job offers great inspirations for me.
The Company
It is very well structured, with break time in between sessions and with a wide range of activities. I especially liked the presentation by different divisions. It starts with a senior speaker sharing about his career in this division followed by interactive and informative sessions organised by graduates. I find this structure really good.
Everyone is very friendly and helpful. There is no stress and all the employees are keen to share and keen to help. There was also a lot of fun in the interactive sessions.
There are a lot of excellent learning opportunities provided at the insight week, ranging from presentations, interactive sessions to work shadowing and networking events. It is amazing how much effort the firm has put in to make sure we learn and get out of this week.
After listening to many presentations and talking to people currently working in this job, I gained much more insights into this job. I learnt how it would be like to be actually working in this industry and the work shadowing sessions are really helpful.
It is really helpful. I learnt most about Barclays culture during the career EXPO event. It showed us the initiatives Barclays involve in and the values it live up tp.
It really opened new doors for me. It introduced to me career opportunities I have never thought about and It highlighted to me the skills required to excel in these jobs.
Everything Else
Paid 250 pound for 1 week.
Yes, there are loads of opportunities. There are senior networking sessions in which we have the opportunity to talk to MDs, Ds and VPs working in different divisions.
