Group Functions Review

The insight week was extremely enjoyable thanks to the hard work of the graduate resourcing team. Sessions throughout the week were delivered with enthusiasm from all members of staff, while the opportunities for networking provided an insight into the practical implementation of Barclays' core values. All fellow 'spring weekers' were enthusiastic and keen to learn, encouraging a supportive learning environment.

From the very beginnning of the spring week we were made to feel valued at Barclays. All staff that we interacted with took time to explain thoroughly, and emphasised that we are the potential future of the company. This feeling of being valued was an excellent motivator throughout the week, and is one of the reasons why I would be excited to come back to Barclays for the summer internship. (As long as I am successful in the interview!)

I received guidance and support from many different areas during the insight week. The financial markets training was an excellent introduction and explanation of Barclays' structure and was a good platform from which to access and learn from the rest of the week. The graduate resourcing team were always willing to help and answered any questions that we had. In addition all 'spring weekers' were very supportive of each other.

The skills I learned throughout the week will certainly assist me in my future studies. I have gained a much wider overview of the company and the financial services industry in general. Beyond my degree the teamwork, co-operation, time management and organisational skills I have developed this week will be extremely beneficial in my future career.

The insight week was very well structured thanks to the efforts of the graduate resourcing team. The organisation was flawless, and enabled us to experience many sectors within the bank. It certainly reflects well on the HR team within Barclays, and is certainly a motivator for joining this division. The Barclays app provided comprehensive information about the whole week, including the agenda.

There was a great atmosphere during the insight week thanks to the work of the graduate recruitment team and the co-operative efforts of fellow spring-weekers. Everyone was keen to learn more about Barclays and motivated to improve throughout. It has certainly created an excellent impression of the company.

Extensive training was provided, with many meetings and talks arranged, which would have taken valuable time from senior members of staff. The fact that they were willing and enthusiastic about taking part in the spring week is a testimony to Barclays' investment in its spring interns. Furthermore, we were able to workshadow staff and learn more from them.

It was very helpful to understand what a full time role would be like in the company, thanks to the work-shadowing opportunities and also the many networking sessions. Talking to current members of staff and discussing their experiences was extremely helpful to learn more about the firm and what it is actually like to work here.

It was very helpful to understand the company culture and the implementation of the Barclays values. It is clear to see that everyone is friendly, willing to help and motivated to succeed. Taking part in the work-shadowing sessions and networking with senior members of staff, as well as current graduates, was very helpful to understand the culture of the company.

The content of the day was very helpful for me to decide on my future career path, by showing me the many opportunites within the company and potential routes through the industry. Thus, by gaining further understanding about the company culture I have learned where my career might lead, and also where it won't lead; the latter is incredibly important at helping me to narrow down my options.

Excellent networking opportunities which allowed time with senior members of staff. Learning about their jobs and their career paths has allowed me to understand my own potential career path. The wide variety of staff in networking events was outstanding and has helped me narrow down what I would like to work in in the future. Many of the staff in this company are inspirational, and motivate me to want to work for the company.

Yes, there are many activites outside of work including networks.
