About You
I really appreciated the fact that the program was well-structured, engaging, and informative. Each activity was designed to either teach you something about the bank and the industry, or get to know the participants better.
The small size of the group made it easier to feel valued. The HR team was available at any moment to answer questions, and encouraged us to be involved at every step.
The HR team distributed documents at the beginning of the week to explain the different activities we would partake in. They were available at any time to answer questions and made sure that each student would take advantage of what was offered to them.
I was already familiar with the industry, as well as the roles of the full-time employees we met, before joining the program. The Insights Week simply helped me confirm that it was the right career for me.
The Company
Extremely well structured. We were kept busy throughout the week, and the week was over before I could realize it.
I expected a competitive atmosphere, mostly because of the assessment centre happening at the end of the week. However, I was proven wrong. All the participants were extremely friendly and eager to learn more about the industry and the other students. I made a lot of friends during the program.
The program was mostly designed to be informative, rather than focused on training and developing specific skills.
Very informative, both concerning the culture of the company, as well as the role of a full time employee (thanks to the work shadowing process).
Almost of the speeches we received and the activities we engaged in included a company culture dimension.
I left the program with the insurance that I wanted to start my career in investment banking.
Everything Else
Structured reimbursement policy.
There were opportunities to meet employees, but discussions were mostly possible during the last two days of the program.
The setting was rather informal, which allowed the participants to ask all the questions they had regarding the day-to-day tasks, culture of the company, career progression opportunities, etc.
There was a networking lunch dedicated to this topic during the last day of the event.
Absolutely, I do not regret spending a week at UBS at all.
