About You
It has been good as I have gained an insight into how the firm works, and their culture (which you do not see/experience until you're actually there) However, I feel more time doing activities related to the bank's work would be better.
Similar to the comment above --> the time has been useful as I have gained an insight. However, I feel some time could be better spent doing activities (such as work shadowing and challenges) rather than general other talks promoting UBS (e.g. the 5BG Experience talk could've been better if we actually went to see parts of the building in small groups)
I have received a lot of guidance from multiple individuals. The most valuable have been about wealth management and succeeding at an assessment centre. I also really felt that the guidance from the GTPs was brilliant. I think more time with GTPs, and perhaps a bit of guidance from more senior individuals, could help.
The professional skills workshop has prepared me for working anywhere, as well as the presentation on assessment centres. I feel that it hasn't helped with my degree much, as I am studying politics and gaining an insight into technology.
The Company
A great job has been done in structuring the insight, and sticking to it --> it has all gone smoothly --> I know exactly what I am doing every day. However, I feel that receiving the schedule the week before would've been more beneficial as I could've scheduled times to meet/network with individuals I already know at UBS.
It has been fantastic. The people around me, and the location, have made the insight week beneficial. There is a friendly and welcoming culture at UBS
They really did put a lot of time in. One of the GTPs I have shadowed was given time off this week to solely focus on us. This really helped as there wasn't any time restraint on him helping us with questions etc
There has been a lot about the culture and general life at UBS. However, I think more time on the office floor would help to see how people work daily. More interaction with employees NOT on the GTP could also help.
A great deal. I had read it on the website but hearing it in a talk, and seeing people work based on the values has really helped.
A great deal. This is because I have seen, to an extent, how to work in that position but also have seen the culture at UBS. For me, the firm is as important as the role and coming to UBS has meant that I can see myself working there
Everything Else
I feel travel (TfL Pass) could've been reimbursed, but other than that, I am happy.
Several --> from networking breakfasts daily, to networking lunches. However, I wish there were more opportunities to network with more senior individuals.
They were fantastic as I met a lot of people, but they could've been shorter but more frequent
Yes, I found out that you can take 2 days off to volunteer which I think is very important. I also got an insight about the hackathon that UBS host.
Yes, I would as I think that UBS is a brilliant firm and that the insight week has been useful. Hopefully the feedback left is implemented (if others feel the same way) to make it even better for those coming in the future
